About the job Warehouse Associate
Job Summary: As a Warehouse Associate at Talent Source, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in a warehouse environment. Your duties will include receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, managing and organizing inventory, and maintaining a clean and safe work area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and Process Incoming Shipments:
- Unload trucks, check in merchandise, and ensure it matches the purchase orders.
- Inspect incoming shipments for damages or discrepancies and report issues to management.
- Order Fulfillment:
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipping according to customer requirements.
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to track orders and inventory.
- Inventory Management:
- Conduct regular inventory counts and audits.
- Organize and maintain inventory in designated storage areas.
- Ensure stock is properly labeled and stored to optimize space and efficiency.
- Shipping and Receiving:
- Prepare shipping documents and labels for outgoing shipments.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Equipment Operation:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and report any issues.
- Safety and Cleanliness:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping, dusting, and disposing of waste.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to achieve operational goals.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and management regarding any issues or improvements needed in the warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not required.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks).
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and order processing.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and perform repetitive tasks.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Work Environment:
- The position involves regular exposure to a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
