SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The CNC Machinist Lead to be competent in the operation of machinery associated with the manufacturing process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES

  • Knowledgeable of G & M codes
  • Be a self-starter with no supervision required
  • Operate machine shop machinery and equipment both CNC and Manual.
  • Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
  • Assists in evaluating employees competency
  • Be competent in setup and editing of machinery offsets
  • Deburr and hand finish parts
  • Track material PO#s
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Must adhere to a promote ALL company safety policies. Wear all required PPE when in Production areas and promote a clean and safe work environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The CNC Machinist Night Time Lead must be able to meet and successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The following physical demands are representative to the position.

The position is active and requires extensive standing, walking, sitting, bending, and kneeling. Along with such movements, employee is required to lift parts/machinery of up to 75 pounds. Additional demands are listed below:

  • Able to lift, carry, and or push up to 50 75 lbs. throughout the shift (including overtime)

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS

  • Must be good at math
  • Knowledge of G&M codes
  • Read and interpret drawings
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerance
  • Knowledge of speeds and feeds
  • Ability to understand English verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to recognize machinery problems, and trouble shoot
  • Employee must be able to utilize measuring equipment
  • Preform Quality Inspections
  • Able to operate various hand tools

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTY

CNC Machinist Lead position has supervisory responsibilities to include: Tooling, and machinery selection, to improve shop functionality, and productivity.

POSITION TYPE / HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. Schedule is Monday- Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. / 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. (swing shifts dependent on work load). Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required based on production needs.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of machine shop experience.
  • Ability to express technical information to subordinates, and superiors
  • Must be able to speak, write and understand English
  • Assist subordinates with trouble shooting
