Our client is Indonesia's supply-chain enabler for mid-downstream industries, starting with poultry. The company manages sourcing, processing, warehousing, and last-mile cold-chain fulfillment for SMEs, F&B chains, factories, and institutional programs. The Sourcing team plays a critical role in ensuring stable supply, accurate pricing, and smooth daily operations.
About the role
We are looking for a Sales Manager who can lead a high-performing sales team while driving margin improvement, customer retention, and strategic growth. This role requires someone who is operationally sharp, data-driven, and strong at managing large B2B clients while coordinating daily execution across pricing, marination projects, and sales operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Leadership & Daily Execution
- Lead, train, and manage the sales team (field sales + inside sales).
- Set targets, monitor daily performance, and ensure consistent pipeline activity.
- Implement SOPs, discipline, and structured follow-ups for the team.
2. Customer Retention & Relationship Management
- Oversee retention performance and repeat-order behavior across all customer segments.
- Resolve escalation cases (pricing issues, service issues, complaints).
- Build and maintain relationships with key accounts and high-volume customers.
- Conduct regular business reviews with large clients.
3. Pricing, Margin & Competitor Monitoring
- Oversee price matching across customer segments while protecting margin targets.
- Coordinate with the pricing team to adjust daily/weekly SKU prices.
- Monitor competitor price movements and market trends.
- Ensure margins stay aligned with company goals without compromising customer growth.
4. Data & Reporting
- Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly sales dashboards (volume, margins, retention, conversion rates, customer health).
- Analyze customer buying patterns, churn risk, and sales performance.
- Use data to plan proactive actions: reactivation, upselling, risk management.
- Support segmentation strategies and customer-scorecards (A/B/C customers).
5. Growth & Expansion
- Create and execute strategies to acquire high-value HoReCa, SME, factory, and chain customers.
- Develop local sales playbooks for new areas or SKUs.
- Lead cross-team coordination for new product launches, promos, and marination rollout.
6. Marination & Product Projects
- Oversee marination project pipeline: customer trials, sample feedback, pricing, packaging, and transitions to recurring orders.
- Coordinate with processing and operations to ensure product accuracy and specifications.
7. Coordination With Internal Teams
* Work closely with:
- Pricing (pricing updates, margin checks, competitor info)
- Operations & Logistics (fulfillment consistency, cut-off performance)
- Processing/Marination (new product launches, custom requests)
- Finance (payments, aging follow-ups, major account terms)
- Ensure operations align with customer expectations and SLAs.
Qualifications
- 3 - 6 years of experience in sales, account management, or business development (poultry industry)
- Proven experience managing a sales team.
- Strong data orientation: able to read dashboards, analyze trends, and make decisions using numbers.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills, especially with large corporate or chain accounts.
- High integrity, strong work ethic, and disciplined execution.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams smoothly.
