Job Overview
We are seeking a visionary and dedicated Principal to lead one of our clients, a well-established international school in achieving academic excellence and holistic student development. The Principal will serve as the chief academic and administrative leader, responsible for shaping the schools strategic direction, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning, promoting a nurturing environment, and maintaining strong engagement with parents and the wider community.
This role requires an experienced and inspirational educator with proven leadership in international education and a strong understanding of both the National Board and Cambridge Curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the schools vision, mission, and strategic goals.
- Lead the academic and operational planning process to ensure alignment with the schools long-term objectives.
- Oversee curriculum delivery, innovation, and academic quality assurance.
- Ensure compliance with educational standards and accreditation requirements.
2. Academic Excellence
- Supervise and evaluate teaching and learning across all grade levels.
- Drive continuous improvement in instructional quality and student performance.
- Lead curriculum development and assessment frameworks aligned with the National Board and Cambridge Curriculum.
- Promote a culture of academic rigor, creativity, and student-centered learning.
3. Student Development & Well-being
- Foster an inclusive, safe, and supportive environment for all students.
- Oversee student affairs, discipline, and welfare policies to ensure positive behavior and holistic growth.
- Ensure effective pastoral care and counseling programs are in place.
- Encourage student participation in extracurricular, leadership, and community service initiatives.
4. Faculty Leadership & Professional Growth
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-quality educators who align with the schools values.
- Lead teacher evaluations and professional development programs.
- Build a collaborative culture that empowers teachers to innovate and excel.
- Mentor and support middle leaders to ensure strong academic and operational management at all levels.
5. Community and Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary representative and ambassador of the school to parents, the community, and educational partners.
- Maintain transparent communication and build trust with parents through regular updates and consultations.
- Collaborate with the School Board and management to ensure alignment of priorities.
- Promote the schools image and reputation in both local and international communities.
6. Operational and Financial Management
- Oversee the schools daily operations, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Ensure efficient use of school resources to support academic and extracurricular excellence.
- Supervise administrative teams to maintain operational effectiveness.
- Uphold policies and procedures to ensure compliance, safety, and accountability.
7. Assessment and Accreditation
- Oversee all internal and external assessments, including National Board and Cambridge exams.
- Ensure readiness of faculty and students for external benchmarking.
- Lead school accreditation processes and quality assurance initiatives.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Masters degree (preferred) or Bachelors degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 12 - 15 years of experience in education, including at least 5 - 7 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., Principal, Vice Principal, or Head of School).
- Strong background in international education with in-depth familiarity with multiple curricula such as the National Board, Cambridge (IGCSE/A Level), and International Baccalaureate (IB) programmes.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and manage diverse teams.
- Academic Expertise: Demonstrated success in curriculum development, instructional leadership, and student achievement.
- Management Competence: Experience in budgeting, school operations, and stakeholder management.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Character: Strategic thinker, empathetic leader, and role model who upholds integrity, inclusivity, and professionalism.
