About the Role

Our Client is seeking an experienced and people-oriented Human Resources (HR) Manager to lead the HR function for our Indonesia operations. Reporting directly to senior management, this role will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that support business objectives while fostering a positive, high-performance workplace culture.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive HR leader who is aligned with management objectives while maintaining strong employee relations. This individual will play a key role in employee engagement, talent development, performance management, and ensuring compliance with Indonesian labor regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Leadership

  • Lead and manage the overall Human Resources function, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices that support organizational growth.
  • Serve as a trusted business partner to management on all HR-related matters.
  • Drive HR initiatives that promote operational excellence and organizational effectiveness.

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Foster a positive and productive work environment through effective employee engagement initiatives.
  • Address employee concerns, grievances, and workplace issues in a fair, timely, and professional manner.
  • Build strong relationships with employees while maintaining alignment with company policies and business objectives.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop initiatives to improve employee morale, motivation, and retention.

Talent Management

  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment and talent acquisition activities.
  • Develop succession planning and talent development strategies.
  • Identify training and development needs and implement learning initiatives.
  • Lead onboarding programs to ensure successful integration of new employees.

Performance Management

  • Drive the company's performance management process, including goal setting, performance reviews, and employee development plans.
  • Partner with department heads to identify and develop high-potential employees.
  • Support managers in coaching, performance improvement, and employee development initiatives.

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Indonesian labor laws, employment regulations, and company policies.
  • Oversee compensation, benefits administration, attendance, leave management, and employee records.
  • Support payroll administration in collaboration with Finance.
  • Manage HR reporting, workforce planning, and HR analytics to support business decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
  • 7–10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Experience working in multinational companies is highly preferred.
  • Experience within commodities trading, mining, energy, logistics, shipping, or other multinational commercial organizations is an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian Labor Law and HR best practices.
  • Proven experience handling employee relations, conflict resolution, and organizational development.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance employee advocacy with business and management objectives.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Professional proficiency in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Possession of professional HR certification (CHRP, SHRM-CP/SCP, CIPD, or equivalent) is an advantage.
