Our client is a leading multinational coal mining company primarily involved in coal mining operations on Bunyu Island in North Kalimantan.
About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Accounting and Tax specialist to join their finance team. The ideal candidate will have 2 - 3 years of experience in accounting, with a background in the coal or mining industry. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the financial planning and analysis functions of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in compliance with local and international accounting standards.
- Oversee the general ledger accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and trial balance maintenance.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in the accounting system.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts.
- Analyze financial performance against budget and forecasts, providing insights and recommendations for improvements.
- Monitor and analyze cost variances and production costs, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of cost accounting systems and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and accounting standards.
- Prepare and submit tax returns, regulatory filings, and other statutory reports in a timely manner.
- Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting and accounting processes.
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as required by management.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or equivalent certification is preferred.
- 2-3 years of accounting experience, with a significant portion in the coal or mining industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
