Job Summary:
The Head of IT will be the key strategist behind all IT programs and initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of both software development and IT infrastructure, with the ability to manage and inspire a team. The ideal candidate will have a background in the insurance industry, preferably with experience in conventional insurance, and will be responsible for overseeing the full IT ecosystem within the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the entire IT department, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of both software development and IT infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement the overall IT strategy, aligning it with the company's business goals.
  • Oversee the planning, design, and execution of all IT programs and projects, ensuring they meet organizational needs.
  • Manage a team of IT professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and mentorship to ensure high performance.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of software systems and applications, ensuring they are aligned with business processes.
  • Manage IT infrastructure, ensuring systems, networks, and hardware are secure, reliable, and scalable.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure IT solutions are effectively integrated into business operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data security standards.
  • Monitor IT trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvement within the organization.
  • Must have strong skills and experience in software development, including coding and programming. The ideal candidate should be proficient in creating and building IT systems and applications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in IT, with a strong background in both software development and IT infrastructure.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a managerial or senior leadership role, preferably within the insurance or insurance brokerage industry.
  • Strong knowledge of software development, systems architecture, and IT infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience in both programming and managing IT infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in creating software systems and applications, with strong coding skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Solid understanding of insurance and conventional insurance brokerage operations is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across teams and departments.
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance regulations in the insurance industry is a plus.
