Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounting Manager for our client, a leading business in the fashion and tailoring industry. In this role, you will oversee and manage the company's accounting operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and the optimization of financial processes. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid background in accounting, and a keen understanding of the fashion and tailoring sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting & Analysis:

    • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    • Prepare detailed financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analyses.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to management regarding financial performance, trends, and budgeting.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Lead the budgeting process and track financial performance against budgeted targets.
    • Assist in preparing financial forecasts and long-term financial plans for the company.
  3. Accounting Operations:

    • Supervise the daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
    • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and payroll.
    • Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  4. Inventory and Cost Management:

    • Oversee inventory management and cost accounting, ensuring proper allocation of materials and labor costs.
    • Work closely with the production and supply chain teams to track raw material usage, finished goods, and cost of sales.
  5. Compliance & Taxation:

    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws and regulations.
    • Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and manage the submission of tax returns.
    • Stay up to date on changes in accounting regulations and tax laws that may impact the business.
  6. Team Leadership & Development:

    • Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance environment, ensuring all team members adhere to best practices and deadlines.
  7. System & Process Improvement:

    • Continuously assess and improve accounting systems, software, and processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
    • Implement and optimize accounting technologies to streamline financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role. Experience in the fashion, retail, or manufacturing industries is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
    • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics) and MS Excel.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
    • Ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance standards in the fashion or manufacturing industries.
