Position : SAP ABAP Developer

Job Description 

Job Summary

SAP ABAP Developer with 4–5 years of experience in designing, developing, and securing ABAP programs & Fiori applications in S/4HANA environment along with having strong hands-on expertise in ABAP Development Tools (ADT) and a solid understanding of ABAP security best practices to build secure, compliant, and high-performance solutions.

Key Responsibilities

ABAP Development

• Design, develop, test, and support ABAP programs including Reports (Classical & ALV), Module Pool programs, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits and IDOCs, BAPIs, RFCs, and Interfaces.
• Develop optimized ABAP code compliant with S/4HANA performance standards
• Work on object-oriented ABAP (OO ABAP) concepts and design patterns
• Collaborate with functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions

SAP Fiori / UI5 Development

• Design and develop SAP Fiori applications using SAPUI5 / OpenUI5, Fiori Elements and Freestyle UI5
• Consume OData services (CDS-based or SEGW)
• Customize standard Fiori apps using extensions and adaptations
• Perform Fiori app troubleshooting, performance tuning, and UI debugging
• Ensure responsive design and user experience standards

Modern ABAP & ADT

• Develop and debug ABAP programs using ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse
• Work with CDS Views, AMDP (basic understanding), and new ABAP syntax
• Use Code Inspector / ATC and ADT checks for quality and performance
• Follow clean-core and SAP recommended development practices

ABAP & Fiori Security & Compliance

• Implement secure coding practices in ABAP programs
• Handle authorization objects, AUTHORITY-CHECK, and role-based access control
• Prevent common vulnerabilities such as Missing authorization checks, SQL Injection, Unsafe dynamic SQL, Insecure file handling
• Support remediation of security findings from code scans, audits, and SAP GRC reviews

Quality & Governance

• Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to ABAP coding standards
• Document technical specifications and development artifacts
• Support transports, versioning, and change management processes
• Work closely with Basis, Security, and GRC teams when required

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• 4–5 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development
• Strong knowledge of Classical & OO ABAP, ALV, Smart Forms / Adobe Forms, Enhancements, BADIs, User Exits
• Hands-on experience with ABAP Development Tools (ADT)
• Strong experience in SAP Fiori / SAPUI5 development
• Working knowledge of S/4HANA data models and HANA-optimized ABAP
• Solid understanding of ABAP authorization concepts and secure coding
• Experience with debugging, performance tuning, and error handling

Security Knowledge

• Authorization objects and role validation
• Secure use of Open SQL and Native SQL
• File handling security (application server / frontend)
• Awareness of SAP security notes related to ABAP development

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good communication and documentation abilities
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
