The Job:
Production Supervisor

Salary range: $71,000 - 80,000

Role Description:
As a Production Group Leader, you will be the first line leader to support team members within your area/zone. You will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day activities in order to maintain scheduled production requirements and to ensure your team is successful.

The hours for this position is 2:30pm to 1am, Monday-Thursday with the potential of overtime on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create an environment of continuous improvement and empower and expect every team member to contribute to that same culture of improvement.
  • Interface with technical staff to ensure proper support.
  • Ensure that employees are properly trained by their Team Leader or other designated trainer in the areas of safety, quality, equipment operation and 5S.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees regarding employee relations issues.
  • Establish annual goals and objectives that support the attainment of operating metrics.
  • Work to continuously improve processes and reduce inventories and work in progress.
  • Interface with Union Stewards in contract and discipline issues.
  • Demonstrate a core value of respectful treatment of all team members in every discussion, interaction and decision.
  • Desire to eliminate waste and to develop team member skills to improve lean operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Manufacturing Engineering or Operations is preferred.
  • Previous professional, internship or co-op experience will be taken into consideration as relevant experience.
  • Must be self-driven and ambitious with proven leadership capabilities, preferably with servant leadership mindset.
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in a medium/high volume, fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Basic understanding of process control, production scheduling, Kaizen, Kanban and Lean manufacturing is preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical and hydraulic press operations, as well as a basic understanding of die set-up and maintenance would be beneficial.
  • Previous Assembly line supervision experience would be preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel).


Physical Demands of Position
Position involves sitting long periods, standing, manual dexterity, stooping, bending and minimal lifting.
