We are looking for a motivated, hardworking, and experienced Physician to join the growing Visiting Docs team.
My Visiting Doctors operates as an Article 28 clinic that services the community, with a significant focus on assisting residents in assisted living facilities. Unlike what the name might suggest, we do not visit private homes but instead rent space at these facilities, providing convenience by being readily available when needed.
Role: We are seeking a Medical Doctor (MD) to service both facilities (Rockland and Orange County, NY). While our priority is an MD, we are also open to considering, a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with primary care experience (no specialties). The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with patients in their residences or in assisted living facilities.
- Providing IN-PERSON general primary care services to patients.
- Diagnosing, treating, and managing both acute and chronic conditions.
- Prescribing and refilling medications as appropriate.
- Actively communicating with patients, families, other specialists, and facility personnel (case managers, social workers, med room, etc.).
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as imaging and lab work.
- Documenting patients histories and treatments in EMR.
Schedule: We are seeking a full time practitioner, but will consider 2 part time practitioners.
Full Time:
- Monday to Friday 9 AM - 5 PM (travel required between both locations).
Part Time:
- Monday: 9 AM - 5 PM (travel required between both locations).
- Tuesday to Friday: 9 AM - 1 PM (one facility per day).
Support:
A dedicated Medical Assistant travels with the provider and offers support at all locations.
Candidate Requirements:
- Active unrestricted New York State Physician's license.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience preferred.
- Must be able to speak French/Creole language.
- Must have CAQH set up and be enrolled with Medicare/Medicaid (PECOS enrollment).
- DEA certified.
- Background in geriatric care and primary care is essential.
- Experience in assisted living facilities is required (not the same as skilled nursing homes).
- Must be comfortable working independently and handling the unique challenges of assisted living environments.
- Entrepreneurial mindset preferred.
- Must be comfortable seeing patients of all ages, not just older clientele.
- Knowledge of eClinicalworks preferred.
Patient Load:
- Approximately 150-165 patients per facility, with a total of 300+ across both locations.
- The average provider sees about 15 patients per session (3-5 hours).
- Providers are required to see all patients as determined necessary by the facility.
Compensation:
- Preferably an independent contractor (1099) arrangement.
- Compensation is 40% of production based on the Medicare fee schedule (not on collection).
- Traditional salary positions may be offered in some cases but are not preferred.
