Talent Masters is conducting a search for an experienced Nursing Home Medical Director who will serve as a pivotal leader responsible for overseeing the medical care provided within our client's skilled nursing facility (SNF).

This role requires a licensed MD or DO with extensive experience in sub-acute and primary care, ideally within a SNF or hospital setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills to lead and supervise mid-level providers, ensuring quality assurance and effective case management. The Medical Director will play a vital role in upholding clinical excellence, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide physician leadership and oversight for all clinical practices within the nursing home.
  • Collaborate with administrative staff to develop and evaluate care-related policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and guide the medical staff, ensuring adherence to quality and safety initiatives.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities to enhance patient care.
  • Communicate regularly with key decision-makers, including the administrator and director of nursing.
  • Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies and participate in licensure surveys.
  • Monitor physician performance and practice to maintain high standards of care.
  • Develop and oversee educational programs for staff, patients, families, and the community.
  • Advocate for resident rights and ensure ethical and legal standards are upheld.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, social, regulatory, and economic factors impacting patient care.
  • Promote person-directed care and support initiatives that enhance resident satisfaction and quality of life.

Qualifications:

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Active state medical license in good standing.
  • Board certification in a relevant specialty (e.g., internal medicine, family medicine, geriatrics).
  • Proven experience in sub-acute care, primary care, or geriatric medicine.
  • Previous Skilled Nursing Facility or hospital-based medical director experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with experience supervising mid-level providers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient-centered care.
