Data Engineer

For our client leader of card payments, we are seeking a Data Engineer with proficiency in cloud technologies, particularly Google Cloud, to help design and implement data infrastructure. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and manage data pipelines for data ingestion, transformation, and distribution.
• Develop and maintain scalable and reliable data architecture to meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to provide data in a ready-to-use form for analysis and insights.
• Implement best practices for data quality, reliability, and efficiency.
• Optimize data workflows and processes for maximum efficiency and scalability.
• Ensure data security and compliance with relevant data protection regulations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with significant exposure to cloud-based data solutions.
• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its data services (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage).
• Proficiency in programming languages relevant to data engineering (e.g., Python, SQL).
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards.

Desired Competencies:

• Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams.
