Due to the incumbent taking 12-months leave, we are thrilled to offer the opportunity for an HR specialist seeking a 12-month fixed term contract to step in and support 4 business units in meeting their HR obligations.

You will enjoy a solid and motivated team of HR professionals based in Auckland, with 2 other HR BPs based in Christchurch.

This is a hybrid role, with 2 days a week in the office (CBD location) and the balance working from home.

There is also the opportunity to negotiate a 32-hour week.

  • Employee relations - discipline, grievance, performance management, absence management, restructures and employment termination.
  • Pragmatic application of employment legislation.
  • Facilitation of salary review processes; application and interpretation of benefits, policies and contractual terms and conditions
  • Actively promote and implement new initiatives and changes.
  • Interpret exit interview analysis to identify areas for improvement and recommendations
  • Support on embedding self-service in the business for transactional HR activities.
  • Collaboration with other HR colleagues.
  • Involvement in HR projects and new initiatives

To be successful in securing this contract you will have:

  • Previous HR experience as an HR generalist at senior level
  • A sound understanding of employment legislation
  • Direct experience of advising on performance, disciplinary, grievance, absence management and general employee relations issues including termination of employment
  • Proven experience of building effective relationships with internal client base with strong stakeholder management skills
  • A relevant qualification.
