Job Summary:
Talent Foresight on behalf of her client in the Health and Wellness space is sourcing to recruit a highly motivated, organised and suitably qualified individual to work as a Gym Operations Manager at her client, the first and only official CrossFit box in Uganda with the aim to support her members to take their workouts to the next level.
Our client focuses on personal attention in small classes anchored in a strong community using the CrossFit methodology (focusing on functional movements that come naturally to humans) to get people fit across a broad domain.
The ideal candidate will manage the gym's day-to-day operations, ensuring the smooth execution of programming, hospitality, maintenance, marketing, sales, and financial management.
The role also includes membership tracking and ensuring overall operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordination with and of the team:
- Liaise closely with & assist the head coach when needed to ensure continuous gym operation.
- Directly supervise marketing and sales, finance and admin, the barista, and the cleaner, and closely cooperate with the head coach and coaching team.
- Initiate, lead and coordinate weekly management meetings with the head coach and directors.
- Customer Service:
- Serve as point of contact for member queries, providing high-quality service.
- Address any gym-related issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain positive relationships with the gyms community, fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Membership Management:
- Track member accounts, ensure memberships are up-to-date, and safeguard follow-up with members whose payments are due.
- Ensure updated membership records weekly and provide reports to directors on membership status, renewals, and new sign-ups.
- Address member concerns or questions about memberships, programming, or gym services.
- Operations & Maintenance:
- Ensure the gym and equipment are in excellent working condition, scheduling routine maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for members.
- Manage and track gym inventory, including equipment, merchandise, and supplies.
- Marketing and Sales
- Drive the development and implementation of the CF KLA marketing plan, pushing membership and revenue growth.
- Leading the corporate partner acquisition strategy & outreach efforts.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships that support the sustainable growth of her operations in Kampala, Uganda.
- Financial Management
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Manage the different revenue streams of CrossFit KLA and safeguard timely payment of key partners and tax obligations.
- Support the preparation of budgets to assist the forecast of the future financial performance of CrossFit KLA.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to co-develop and implement marketing and sales strategies.
- Experience in gym or fitness facility management is preferred, particularly within the CrossFit community.
- Knowledge of (CrossFit) training methodologies and gym operations.
- Familiarity with membership software and tracking tools.
- Sound financial management skills, ability to oversee and interpret financial reports.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Hours:
- This is a full-time role, requiring 40 hours per week, Monday - Saturday
