Principal Function:

  • Oversees day-to-day operations of commercial architectural millwork and casework company
  • Supervises office, shop & field personnel
  • Plans and manages projects
  • Assure projects are scheduled and delivered on time and budget
  • Continuous improvement activities to increase productivity and profitability of the company
  • Quality Assurance of products produced
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must be fluent in reading of architectural drawings
  • Must comply with Employee Handbook and Safety Manual

Organization:

  • Assist the President/CEO in providing leadership to the various departments.
  • Works closely with the staff
  • The relationship among the staff is to be one of mutual respect and trust, working together as a team.
  • Be a good steward of the budget.

Requirements:

  • 10 Years + experience in woodworking
  • Must be familiar with LEED, FSC, AWI, AWI QCP, SEFA standards

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop operation policies by evaluating and enforcing policies for products
  • Oversee OSHA regulations & assure compliance
  • Oversee Safety of the Organization
  • Oversee Licensing requirements and maintain schedule of expirations and applications/reapplications
  • Oversee Marketing, including PowerPoint Presentations to clients, website updates and marketing brochures
  • Maintain & schedules vehicle maintenance and repairs

Human Resources Department

  • Track staffing requirements
  • Recruiting, hiring & training as needed
  • Scheduling counseling
  • Disciplining employees
  • Ensures compliance with laws & regulations
  • Assist in employee on-boarding

Financial

  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Assist in preparing budgets
  • Scheduling expenditures
  • Analyzing variance and initiating corrective actions
  • Review and approve operational invoices and forwarding to either President/CEO (costs in excess of $5,000) or to Accounting (costs less than $5,000)

Sales/Estimating Department

  • Scheduling and conducting hand-off meetings
  • Review bids for accuracy
  • High level contract negotiations
  • Assure accurate and complete turnover upon project award

Project Management Department

  • Performs duties of a Project Executive to manage PM’s and APM’s
  • Point of contact for the Client
  • Review of all contracts prior to execution by President/CEO
  • Maintain project schedules
  • Coordinating Field Measuring
  • Coordinate Site Visits
  • Site Access Requirements
  • Budget Reviews, including costs-to-complete
  • Oversees monthly billings
  • Review of returned submittals for accuracy and cost impacts

Engineering/Drafting Department

  • Oversees assigning of projects to Engineers
  • Oversees scheduling of Engineers
  • Oversees assigning of projects to Drafters
  • Oversees schedule of Drafters
  • Internal review of shop drawings prior to submission to the client

Purchasing Department

  • Oversees material inventory and purchases
  • Approval of PO’s to be issued
  • Oversees sub-subcontracts
  • Oversees Shipping & Receiving
  • Buyout negotiations as required
  • Assist in identifying long lead items

Production Department

  • Works in conjunction with Production Manager to oversee high-level shop operations
  • Works in conjunction with Shop Foreman to ensure projects are progressing
  • Conducts Safety Inspections as required
  • Conducts Safety Meetings as required
  • Oversee mockups, if needed

Installation Department

  • Maintain Installation Schedule
  • Schedule and conduct hand-off/page-turn
  • Generate Installation Packets
  • Scheduling of deliveries, temporary labor, equipment rental & accommodations
  • Conduct site visits as needed
  • Coordinate punch walk thru’s
  • Oversee shortage/breakage/WO requirements
  • Maintain schedules of and coordinate drug testing, badging & background checks
