Job Summary:

The School Social Worker will play a vital role in supporting the emotional, social, and academic well-being of our students. Working collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals, you will assess student needs, develop and implement individualized support plans, and empower students to thrive in a positive learning environment. You will be a passionate advocate for students, promoting their mental health, resilience, and overall success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for students facing academic, behavioral, or social-emotional challenges.
  • Partner with teachers to identify students who may benefit from social work intervention and support.
  • Collaborate with families to develop and implement comprehensive support plans that address student needs.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and evaluations to understand the underlying causes of student challenges.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for students facing acute issues such as grief, trauma, or family conflict.
  • Facilitate workshops and trainings on topics related to social-emotional learning, positive behavior intervention and supports (PBIS), and child development.
  • Advocate for and promote child protection policies and procedures within the school.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and interventions.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant social work theories, practices, and resources in the UAE context.
  • Collaborate effectively with a diverse team of school professionals, including teachers, administrators, counselors, and health professionals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Social Work preferred.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensing as a Social Worker in the UAE.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and adolescents in a school setting or a related environment.
  • Strong clinical and counseling skills, with experience in individual and group settings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Culturally competent and sensitive to the diverse needs of the school community.
  • Proficient in English, both written and spoken. Arabic fluency is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice.
