As a Revenue Manager, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing revenue accounting, billing processes, and financial reporting. Your expertise will ensure seamless financial operations while providing key insights to drive business decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Revenue Accounting & Billing
- Manage and control the billing process for all UK corporate clients, liaising with account managers and other stakeholders.
- Oversee and execute the corporate revenue accounting process, ensuring accuracy in P&L and balance sheet entries.
- Implement and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations with clear working papers.
- Monitor global revenue recognition practices and support revenue-related queries from international entities.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS 15 revenue recognition standards.
- Reconcile promotion transactions to client-provided floats received.
Supplier Revenue & Commissions Management
- Manage and control the invoicing process for Travel and Lifestyle pay direct commission processes, liaising with the key stakeholders where required.
- Oversee the Supplier Revenue accounting process for all entities ensuring compliance with IFRS 15
- Oversee and lead the Credit Control team to ensure commission is invoiced and collected in a timely manner. Identifying opportunities to enhance time taken to collect
- Review monthly balance sheet reconciliation with clear support of balances outstanding
- Reconcile commission collected against commission reported in Ten Travel System to minimise leakage. Feeding back any errors in the data to relevant stakeholders to enhance accuracy
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve the percentage of commission collected.
Financial Reporting & Forecasting
- Prepare and analyse monthly revenue reports, including variances by segment and foreign exchange impacts.
- Assist in the production of revenue budgets and monthly reforecasting by supporting the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team.
- Monitor and explain monthly cash collections versus budgeted expectations.
- Maintain a tracker for all contracts, including terms and amendments.
- Collaborate with FP&A to model contract terms for accurate revenue recognition.
- Produce and maintain a Group revenue reporting manual.
Process Improvement & Systems Development
- Enhance reporting tools and dashboards using finance systems and Tableau for better decision-making.
- Improve the efficiency of revenue tracking, billing, and interdepartmental collaboration through Salesforce and other financial tools.
- Develop streamlined processes for contract reviews and intercompany billing on global contracts.
Stakeholder Management & Compliance
- Liaise with auditors to ensure timely responses and compliance with listed company deadlines.
- Foster relationship with client services and business development to streamline invoicing and payment process.
- Challenge assumptions, highlight issues, and identify opportunities for revenue growth.
- Ensure VAT compliance in billing processes.
Requirements
Your Profile:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with IFRS 15 revenue recognition principles.
- Experience in revenue accounting and billing processes, ideally in a multinational environment.
- Familiarity with financial systems and reporting tools, including Salesforce and Tableau.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work proactively, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Experience in VAT regulations related to billing is desirable.
- Experience in managing a small team of revenue accountants and credit controllers.
