Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead a large-scale government digital transformation initiative. This high-impact project involves modernizing core systems for a prominent government organization, ensuring seamless integration and operational efficiency. The project is complex, requiring the coordination of multiple teams and stakeholders, and has a significant influence on improving public sector operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage a large-scale IT project for a government client, ensuring on-time delivery, adherence to budget, and expected quality standards.
- Lead three project teams, each comprising a Project Manager and two Business Analysts, fostering collaboration and ensuring alignment across all teams.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Serve as the primary liaison for high-level government stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and alignment of project goals.
- Monitor project progress through regular reviews, identifying risks and ensuring the implementation of corrective measures.
- Guarantee compliance with government standards and policies while driving innovation and operational efficiency.
- Deliver comprehensive project updates and reports to stakeholders and senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in IT, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in managing large-scale, complex IT projects, preferably in a government or public sector setting.
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and deliver results within defined parameters.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working with high-level executives or government officials.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Project Management Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent are highly advantageous.
- Prior experience in overseeing digital transformation or ERP-related projects in a public sector context.
