Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated LPN MED SURG / TELEMETRY Nurse to join our team of skills nurses! The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and demonstrate proficiency in various nursing practices. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams, and a commitment to providing high-quality care to patients across diverse medical needs.

Duties

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a medical/surgical + telemetry setting, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses, adhering to established protocols for medication administration.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ health status, including vital signs and medical history.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and post-discharge care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
  • Assist with laboratory tests and procedures as required, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Registered with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and nursing best practices.
  • Experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred; familiarity with medical/surgical nursing is a plus.
  • Proficiency in patient care techniques, including medication administration and monitoring.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a calm demeanor.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical nursing practices.

We are looking for dedicated Registered Nurse with the following certifications:

ACLS, BLS, TELEMETR, IV MEDICATION

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active NSCN registration
  • Updated resume
  • Vulnerable sector check (VSC)
  • Immunization Records
