Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
As the Engineering Reliability Team Leader (Electrical), you will take ownership of site reliability, leading maintenance strategy and driving continuous improvement across engineering operations. You will play a key role in improving asset performance, reducing downtime, and fostering a proactive maintenance culture while managing and developing a small team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement site-wide reliability and maintenance strategies
- Drive PPM and condition-based maintenance to maximise asset performance
- Improve plant uptime through root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
- Monitor and utilise KPIs such as MTBF and MTTR to enhance performance
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of engineers, ensuring strong performance and accountability
- Analyse maintenance data and produce reports to support decision-making
- Support budget management and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards
- Collaborate with production, quality teams, and external stakeholders
- Support breakdown response and ensure high-quality engineering delivery
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a reliability or maintenance leadership role
- Background within FMCG or a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with PPM, continuous improvement, and maintenance strategy
- Electrically biased with multi-skilled capabilities
- Experience using CMMS systems
- Strong fault-finding and data analysis skills
Desirable Skills:
- Degree in Engineering or related field
- 18th Edition qualification
- Knowledge of RCA, FMEA, and condition monitoring techniques
- Lean / Six Sigma experience
