Job Role & Key Responsibilities:

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to provide engineering leadership within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations while driving maintenance performance, asset reliability, continuous improvement and engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering activities with a strong focus on health, safety, environmental and food safety compliance.
  • Manage planned and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering legislation, statutory requirements and safe working practices.
  • Lead, coach and develop the engineering team, supporting training, succession planning and performance management.
  • Control maintenance budgets and deliver cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Oversee industrial services, utilities, automation and manufacturing systems to support production.
  • Investigate engineering incidents, identify root causes and implement preventative actions.
  • Work collaboratively with production and cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, quality and reliability.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • A recognised engineering qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Industrial or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years' experience in an engineering leadership role within manufacturing, FMCG, food production or a similar environment.
  • Strong knowledge of planned maintenance, asset reliability, maintenance budgeting and KPI management.
  • Experience leading engineering teams, contractors and external service providers.
  • Excellent knowledge of engineering compliance, health & safety legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience within food manufacturing or hygienic production environments.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and production processes.
  • Experience with process optimisation, packing improvements and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Understanding of project engineering, plant design and CAPEX projects.
  • Experience with automation and manufacturing execution systems.
