Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with an Electrical Bias to join an established engineering team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role will focus on keeping production and packaging equipment running efficiently through reactive maintenance, PPM and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise production downtime.
- Complete planned preventative maintenance PPM.
- Work with control panels, inverters and electrical systems.
- Maintain and troubleshoot production and packaging machinery.
- Carry out basic mechanical maintenance on pumps, motors, gearboxes, bearings and conveyors.
- Support continuous improvement and site reliability initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with the wider engineering and production teams.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Strong electrical fault-finding experience within a UK manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams.
- Experience working with inverters and control panels.
- Strong reactive maintenance and breakdown response experience.
- Basic mechanical maintenance knowledge.
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.
- A positive, proactive and hands-on approach.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable Skills:
- Food manufacturing or FMCG experience.
- Multi-skilled maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding capability.
- Experience within packaging or automated/high-speed manufacturing environments.
