Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
Our client is seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to support the safe and efficient operation of a high-speed manufacturing site. This role focuses on delivering both reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and driving overall site performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and automation faults
• Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Identify root causes and implement long-term solutions
• Support continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to KPIs including OEE and efficiency targets
• Maintain high health and safety standards
• Provide technical support, training, and coaching
• Support wider site engineering activities

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering or a time-served apprenticeship
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience with automation, control systems, and industrial machinery
• Background in FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing
• Experience working in a shift-based maintenance role
• Ability to work under pressure and support production demands

Desirable Skills:

• HNC in Electrical, Automation, or Multi-Skilled Engineering
• Experience with high-speed production lines and pneumatic systems
• Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies
• Ability to train and mentor others
