Senior/Lead Data Engineer

What You'll do:

- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, cloud-native data pipelines supporting analytics and business decision-making;

- Define and evolve data architectures that ensure reliability, performance, and scalability across the organization;

- Lead technical decisions related to data modeling, storage strategies, orchestration, and pipeline optimization;

- Translate complex technical concepts and architectural decisions into clear explanations for non-technical stakeholders;

- Evaluate trade-offs and make sound, defensible engineering decisions aligned with business objectives;

- Mentor and support mid-level and junior engineers, promoting best practices, standards, and a collaborative engineering culture;

- Break down complex and ambiguous problems into clear, actionable steps and drive them to resolution;

- Take ownership of delivery outcomes, proactively identify risks, and contribute to the long-term evolution of the data platform;

Who You Are:

- Minimum 5 years of experience in Data Engineering, with a strong focus on cloud-native data solutions and data architecture;

- Strong experience in end-to-end data architecture and design, including data ingestion, modeling, storage, and orchestration (e.g. Medallion Architecture);

- Proficiency in cloud-native engineering, preferably within Microsoft environments (Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse), or equivalent tools in AWS or Google Cloud;

- Hands-on experience with data warehousing and data lake solutions (e.g. Azure Data Lake, Delta Lake, BigQuery, Amazon Redshift);

- Strong programming skills in Python (including data libraries such as Pandas, PySpark, Boto3), SQL, and/or Spark;

- Solid knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases (MongoDB, ElasticSearch, BigQuery);

- Experience with DevOps / DataOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines;

- Experience implementing data validation, data lineage, documentation, and monitoring at scale;

- Proven ability to optimize data pipelines and storage solutions for performance, cost, and reliability;

- Fluent in English and Portuguese;
