About the job Compliance Associate - Singapore
Syfe is APAC's largest and fastest-growing digital wealth platform, trusted with over US$10 billion in assets. We are fundamentally changing how hundreds of thousands of people across Asia-Pacific build wealth through a holistic approach to managing money rather than just pushing investment products. Backed by world-class investors and recognised as a leader in WealthTech, we are a team of passionate builders creating the future of wealth management.
The Right Profile
We're looking for a Compliance Associate to join us, sitting within Syfe's Legal & Compliance function, and supporting our regulatory obligations across Singapore (MAS) and Hong Kong (SFC) as Syfe scales across both markets. You'll work closely with the Head of Compliance and cross-functional partners across Product, Client Success, and Operations to keep our compliance programme current, practical, and audit-ready — spanning policy, monitoring, marketing review, regulatory reporting, and AML/CFT support. Because Compliance sits inside Legal & Compliance, you'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with legal colleagues day to day, and you'll partner with Syfe's independent Risk team on fraud and incident matters — giving you a rounded view of how regulatory, legal, and risk considerations fit together in a live fintech business. This is a hands-on role for someone with a solid compliance foundation who wants broader regional exposure, not a narrow slice of one topic.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and work closely with other departments, including the Product, Client Success, and Operations teams, on compliance-related queries.
- Support the development, roll-out, and ongoing maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, and training materials.
- Perform reviews within the compliance programme across various compliance topics.
- Review and advise on marketing materials and advertisements.
- Prepare data and files required for regulatory reporting, vendor submissions, and audits.
- Perform regulatory research on new product roll-outs and business initiatives.
- Support the AML Ops team, where required, on AML and CFT tasks including client onboarding (KYC), periodic CDD reviews, and transaction monitoring for potential suspicious activity.
- Partner with Syfe's independent Risk team on matters they primarily own — fraud cases and operational incidents — bringing a compliance and regulatory lens to support their handling rather than running these processes yourself.
- Work closely with your Legal colleagues within the Legal & Compliance function on regulatory, contractual, and legal-adjacent queries that touch compliance.
- Assist with ad hoc tasks as required by the team, while demonstrating an 'AI-first' mindset.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a reputable university.
- 3–6 years of experience in AML/CFT compliance, internal audit, or legal within the financial services sector in Singapore.
- Independent and task-oriented, and enjoys autonomy in day-to-day tasks.
- Meticulous, with great attention to detail.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in Investments and/or WealthTech.
- Strong interest in fintech and investments.
- Professional certifications such as ICA or ACAMS.
- Familiarity with RegTech platforms and experience assessing or integrating them.
- Demonstrable hands-on experience and proficiency with AI tools to automate compliance workflows, draft policy documentation, and conduct regulatory research to increase operational efficiency.
- A track record of incorporating AI tools into your own workflow more broadly — even outside compliance specifically. We care more about a genuine habit of working with these tools than where you first picked it up.
