What you'll do

To research, develop, and examine mechanical components, equipment, and systems by applying principles of mechanical engineering for electronic device design.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mechanical Design

• Collaborate with clients to understand production plans, specifications, and schedules.

• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CAD software based on client briefs.

• Conduct analysis of 3D models using CAE to ensure design integrity and performance.

• Coordinate with engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve product design issues.

• Present design results and insights to clients and align on the next steps.

• Engage with prototype suppliers to create and refine prototype parts.

• Process and adjust prototypes to confirm assembly feasibility for mass production.

• Modify designs based on testing, analysis, and feedback from suppliers and clients.

• Prepare detailed design reports, log modifications and address issues.

• Ensure thorough documentation for quality improvement and future reference.

• Finalize production-ready drawings, including detailed specifications for manufacturing.

• Coordinate with tooling suppliers to facilitate mass production of components.

• Plan and schedule design validation tests and interpret results to identify issues.

• Create and present test reports and insights based on validation data.

• Support factory visits to ensure assembly line compatibility and design adherence.

• Provide technical solutions and updates in client/supplier meetings and video conferences.

• Prepare technical presentations outlining design solutions and outcomes.

• Comply with all design requirements and instructions from supervisors.
  

QUALIFICATIONS

• Over 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering.

• Proficiency in CAD software (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks) and CAE tools (ANSYS Professional, ANSYS Design Space, Autodesk Simulation CFD).

• Business-level English proficiency; basic Japanese (N4/N5) with willingness to improve.

• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
