About the job Senior Systems Architect (Hanover, MD)
Senior Systems Architect needed for our government client in Hanover, MD. The Senior Systems Architect will evaluate the current
server architecture, standards, future technology plans thoroughly, and
recommend emerging trends for both hardware and software
infrastructure. One year contract position with possible extension. The non-negotiable pay rate is $65.00 per hour.
Essential Duties:
- Develop
and maintain the overall architecture for the organization's IT
systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
- Design
and oversee the implementation of complex IT systems and solutions,
considering factors such as scalability, security, performance,
and integration.
- Evaluate
emerging technologies (Modernized Datacenter, cloud, ERPs) and industry
trends to recommend innovative solutions that drive
business value and enhance the organization's technical capabilities.
- Collaborate
with stakeholders to understand requirements, define architecture
principles, and establish standards and best practices
for system design and development.
- Provide
technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring
adherence to architectural standards and best practices throughout
the project lifecycle.
- Conduct reviews and assessments of existing systems to identify opportunities for improvement, optimization, and modernization.
- Act
as a subject matter expert on enterprise architecture, providing advice
and recommendations to senior management on strategic IT
decisions.
- Foster
a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the IT
organization, promoting the adoption of new technologies and
methodologies.
Qualifications:
- At least 6 years of experience in assessing, designing, development, and deploying large applications with a strong background in IT architecture are required.
- At
least 6 years of experience in the Software Development Life Cycle
(SDLC) along with excellent verbal and written communications are
required.
- At least 3 years of experience in management or lead role within an IT department is required.
- Must have IT Service Management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Agile-Scrum knowledge.
- Must have Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook experience.
- Must be able to work from 8:30 am-5:00 pm Monday through Friday with a 30 minute non paid lunch.
- Must be able to pass a national background check and drug test.
