Afrikaans Nursery School/Pre-Primary School Teacher (Ages 4-5)

 Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Nursery School/Pre-Primary School Teacher to join our team. The primary responsibility of this position is to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children between the ages of 4 and 5. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of early childhood development and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  1. Curriculum Development:

    • Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans, activities, and teaching strategies that align with the school's curriculum and educational goals.
    • Foster the development of language, cognitive, motor, and social skills through engaging educational experiences.
    • Incorporate various teaching methods, resources, and technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
    • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes creativity, exploration, and curiosity.
  2. Classroom Management:

    • Establish and maintain a well-organized, safe, and stimulating learning environment conducive to learning and growth.
    • Manage classroom behavior effectively, using positive reinforcement techniques and age-appropriate discipline strategies.
    • Foster a sense of community and encourage cooperation and respect among students.
    • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing timely feedback and identifying areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with parents/guardians to address individual student needs and ensure effective communication.
  3. Child Development and Support:

    • Recognize and cater to the diverse learning styles, abilities, and interests of students.
    • Support students' emotional and social development, promoting self-esteem, independence, and positive peer interactions.
    • Provide individualized attention and support to students who require additional assistance or have special needs.
    • Foster a love for learning, curiosity, and critical thinking skills through engaging educational experiences.
    • Create opportunities for students to develop their creativity, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  4. Collaboration and Professional Development:

    • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
    • Share best practices, resources, and ideas with colleagues to enhance teaching effectiveness.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends, research, and methodologies in early childhood education.
    • Engage in continuous professional development to improve teaching skills and maintain a high standard of excellence

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (required) OR
  • At least three years of experience working as a Nursery School/Pre-Primary School Teacher with children aged 4-5.
  • Proven experience working with children between the ages of 4 and 5.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles, theories, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Proficiency in using educational technologies and resources.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and school administrators.
