Position:

MAINTENANCE MANAGER

  1. Main Job Purpose:

The primary focus is on:

  • Ensuring that preventative and corrective maintenance is done on all electronic components, equipment and traffic management peripherals within the environment
  • Activities are performed thoroughly and timeously to improve service delivery to the Client

Development and implementation of procedures and strategies to ensure efficiency within the department/environment

Education (minimum requirements to perform the job):

School : Grade 12

Post School : Electronic/Electrical Engineering Degree OR BTech Degree

in Electronic/Electrical Engineering OR similar tertiary qualification Job Related : Valid Unendorsed Code 08 Drivers License

Experience : At least 10 years related experience of which 5 should be in

managerial

  1. Physical Demands & Work Environment

The physical demands are those required to work in an office and inside and outside of buildings

  • Drive a motor vehicle according to standards on public roads

  • An ad hoc amount of overtime and standby duties to be performed

  • Largely site work with the office bound duty of admin and attendance of meetings
  1. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Coordination and Supervision

  • Coordinate with operational/technical departments to provide guidance on performance and execution of duties within the company environment
  • Ensure all health, safety and security policies and procedures are followed at all times
  • Ensure that the Company complies with all contractual obligations
  • Coordinate with software team and monitor equipment functioning to meet specifications
  • Develop maintenance plans, procedures and policies
  • Implement and manage maintenance plans
  • Interpret and implement quality assurance standards
  • Plan and schedule maintenance activities and resources to ensure activities are completed with expected quality and within expected timeframes
  • Provide product/system training on a regular basis
  • Conduct inspections of all company installations and systems at the sites
  • Keep record of all inspections in the prescribed manner and submit timeously to
  • management
  • Ensure all systems are adequately maintained as per procedures and client
  • requirements
  • Identify and manage maintenance risks
  • Ensure maintenance activities adherence to health and safety procedures
  • Liaison and resolving of system problems with third party suppliers/contractors
  • Evaluate all system practices and recommend improvements and modifications to all systems to reduce cost
  • Management of preventative actions on systems to ensure system performance and consistency and facilitate reduction of system downtime
  • Identify and promote efficiencies with the company environment
  1. Operations and Reporting
  • Compile and submit contractual and ad hoc reports as required by Client and Management
  • Manage and procure spares on site as and when needed
  • Facilitate the preparation and present project status reports and contractual monthly reports from technicians to management and stakeholders
  • Attend to all on site concerns and issues raised by technicians and client
  • Oversee and manage ad hoc projects as and when required
  1. Communication
  • Establish and maintain networks and relationships with stakeholders (internal/external) in order to effectively deliver technical advice and meet expectations
  • Analyse and resolve inter-departmental issues and respond to queries timeously
  • Facilitate coordination and communication between support/maintenance functions
  • Implement communication strategies to ensure effective communication of relevant information and the involvement of direct reports
  • Establish and maintain Client and stakeholder interface and relations
  • Develop and/or implement strategies to improve efficiency/service delivery and ensure
  • maximum output in meeting Service Level Agreements
  • Apply strategic planning for maintenance activities and identify areas for generating additional revenue
  • Identify and perform R&D activities to find ways to increase performance and functionality and new products that could meet the companys overall business development strategy and the clients requirements
  1. Finance
  • Compile and manage maintenance budgets
  • Analyse, manage and control maintenance costs

Human Resources

  • Manage resource allocation
  • Monitor and evaluate staff performance, review their daily, weekly and monthly duties on site
  • Conduct performance development reviews and recommend potential candidates for possible future training and promotions
  • Manage quality and quantity of employee productivity
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Guide and support less experienced staff
  • Manage and control leave and standby duties for staff

Location: Based Offices in IRENE
