Main Purpose of Role
The purpose of the job is to be responsible for the interpretation and communication of payroll legislation to ensure tax compliance. This role will inform the Product team and business in advance of legislative impact to mitigate any risk of non-compliance.
Required Minimum Education / Training
- BCom degree or equivalent.
Required Minimum Work Experience
- Relevant industry experience
- 3 5 years experience in a similar role.

- Good knowledge and understanding of payroll principles and best practice.
- Understanding of BCEA - Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
- Exposure to other African countries legislation advantageous.
- Taxation.

Key Performance Areas
Payroll Legislation
- Translates the impact that legislation and changes within taxation may have on the business.
- Keeps ahead of existing and emerging legislation specific reference to Payroll statutory compliance and define appropriate application.
- Documents all research and analysis to ensure communication of changes to product team timeously.
- Anticipate future changes to legislation and regulations that may have an impact on the business and system requirements as far as possible through research and analysis activities.
- Assist training department with compiling training material legislative specific.
- Participate in activities to expand legislative and business knowledge.
- Assisting with internal and external legislative queries.
- Conduct sporadic system audits to ensure system compliance.
Achieve Financial Targets
Achieve financial targets through:
- Develop and maintain the budget process to ensure alignment to strategic goals.
- Manages costs, reviews and reports on variances
