Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Author to develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation for rolling stock maintenance and operations. The successful candidate will prepare operating manuals, maintenance manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and parts catalogues while ensuring documentation accuracy, compliance, and accessibility through digital document management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, edit, and maintain technical manuals, SOPs, maintenance manuals, and parts catalogues.
- Develop digital documentation in accordance with company standards and project requirements.
- Review, verify, and validate technical documentation produced internally and by external suppliers.
- Maintain documentation within Content Management Systems (CMS) and ensure proper version control.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams, engineers, technical managers, and other stakeholders to gather and update technical information.
- Utilize systems such as SAP, SharePoint, and other engineering platforms to collect and manage technical data.
- Ensure documentation complies with company procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support document approval, publication, and distribution processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance documentation quality and efficiency.
- Promote and comply with Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) policies and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering, Technical Writing, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in technical documentation within a heavy industry or engineering environment.
- Experience with Digital Maintenance Management Systems and document management platforms.
- Experience in rolling stock, railway, manufacturing, or industrial maintenance is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with SAP, SharePoint, or similar enterprise systems is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of railway or rolling stock maintenance operations.
- Experience using engineering documentation management systems.
- Previous hands-on maintenance experience in rail or heavy industrial environments is an advantage.
