Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an Airfield Lighting Technician / Electrician
  • Proven experience working on airfield lighting systems or high-voltage electrical systems
  • Construction industry experience is mandatory

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be locally available in Qatar
  • Must hold a valid Freelance Visa

Job Responsibilities

  • Install, test, maintain, and repair airfield lighting systems and associated high-voltage electrical power and distribution equipment
  • Perform work on electrical systems above 600 volts, following approved safety procedures
  • Install, service, and repair generators, transformers, switchboards, control panels, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems
  • Carry out fault diagnosis and troubleshooting on airfield lighting and power distribution systems
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, layouts, and technical specifications
  • Perform electrical load calculations and verify wiring and equipment capacity
  • Use electrician hand tools and measuring and testing instruments such as multimeters, insulation testers, and high-voltage test equipment
  • Ensure all work complies with electrical codes, aviation standards, project specifications, and site safety regulations
  • Coordinate with project teams to support construction and maintenance activities
  • Maintain proper documentation, inspection records, and maintenance reports

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of airfield lighting systems and high-voltage electrical installations
  • Sound understanding of electrical safety standards for systems above 600V
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and basic electronic control circuits
  • Good mechanical aptitude and hands-on technical skills
  • Familiarity with construction site safety and aviation-related electrical systems
