Job Description:
Highly skilled Mechanical Engineer Inspector with 7–10 years of post-contract supervision experience in reputable consultancy firms, particularly on residential developments. The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record in overseeing mechanical works on-site and ensuring full compliance with approved technical specifications, project standards, authority regulations, and quality requirements throughout construction, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
Responsibilities:
· Conduct daily site inspections to verify that MEP installations conform to approved drawings, specifications, and project standards.
· Review mechanical shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and inspection test plans prior to execution.
· Monitor construction activities related to HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems to ensure quality workmanship and schedule compliance.
· Issue NCRs, site observations, and follow-up actions where deviations or non-conformities are identified.
· Coordinate with the main contractor, subcontractors, and supervision teams to resolve technical challenges on-site.
· Verify mechanical system installation, commissioning, and testing in accordance with applicable codes and authority requirements.
· Attend technical, coordination, and progress meetings as required.
· Ensure all mechanical works are executed in accordance with QCS, international standards, and safety protocols.
· Prepare detailed site inspection reports, test results, snag lists, and final handover documentation.
· Support the project team during commissioning, testing, and handing over of mechanical systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- 7–10 years of post-contract supervision experience in reputable consultancy firms.
- Strong background and proven project involvement in residential developments (mid-rise / high-rise / compounds).
- Solid knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, chilled water systems, firefighting, plumbing, and drainage.
- Familiarity with local authority regulations and submission procedures (QCDD, Kahramaa, Ashghal, Civil Defense).
- Strong understanding of QCS, ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, and other international codes and standards.
- Excellent reporting, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple inspections concurrently.
- Professional registration, MMUP/UPDA certification is an advantage.
