About the job Graphic Designer
The Graphic Designer (Prepress Designer) is responsible for preparing print-ready artwork and layouts using a range of graphic design and prepress software. This role involves setting up files for one-color, multi-spot, and four-color process jobs; creating traps, halftones, and duotones; verifying and installing fonts; preparing layouts based on customer requirements; and managing file imposition for optimal press sheet usage. The position also supports variable data setup, digital file management, and general prepress, bindery, and finishing functions.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Education

Diploma or two-year vocational/technical training in Graphic Design or a related field.
2. Experience
-
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with digital multicolor and four-color print files.

Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.

Experience working across both Mac and PC environments.
3. Skills & Competencies

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Microsoft Word (Mac OS).

Solid understanding of digital file formats (PDF, TIFF, EPS) and cross-platform workflows.

Strong color management skills and familiarity with offset printing processes.

Ability to prepare and output files to CTP systems, RIPs, and digital presses.

Technical aptitude for minor maintenance on scanners, CTP image setters, and related equipment.

Strong attention to detail, especially in visual and color accuracy.

Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.

Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Key Responsibilities

Creates design concepts, layouts, and print-ready artwork, including photo editing, illustration, and proof preparation.

Advises clients on design options and develops concepts, sketches, drafts, and final artwork to meet communication goals.

Meets production deadlines by following established schedules, preparing vendor specifications, and archiving completed work.

Manages the Printing Services shared network folder, including file retrieval, organization, and client support for file submission.

Prepares and produces printing plates using desktop publishing tools, imposition software, and CTP technologies.

Builds and tests variable data printing files using HTML and coding tools, coordinating with relevant teams on proofs and project setup.

Utilizes internal print management and tracking systems to support workflow efficiency.

Assists the Pressroom Operator as needed and performs routine maintenance and minor repairs on prepress equipment.

Follows safety procedures when working with chemicals and related materials.

Contributes to a collaborative and culturally inclusive work environment.

Stays updated with industry trends, software updates, and design/production techniques through continuous learning.
