Working Hours: 10 Hours per day / 6 Days per week
Job Summary
The Rolling Stock Overhaul Technician is responsible for undertaking overhaul, repair, and refurbishment of rolling stock components in accordance with industry standards, safety requirements, and approved maintenance instructions to support fleet reliability and availability.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- Diploma / ITI in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 3+ years experience in rolling stock, heavy maintenance, or industrial environment.
- Experience in mechanical/electrical overhaul works.
- Basic fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
- Basic computer knowledge.
Preferred:
- Experience with TACT, Equinox, or CORMAP systems.
- Previous tram/metro/railway experience.
Key Responsibilities
1 Component Overhaul & Maintenance
- Perform overhaul and repair of bogies, wheelsets, couplers, gangways, doors, HVAC systems, and other rolling stock components.
- Execute maintenance activities as per approved procedures and production plans.
- Conduct basic fault finding and diagnostics.
- Ensure all overhaul activities comply with industry standards and technical manuals.
- Produce detailed and analytical technical reports where required.
- Provide technical support during depot incidents when required.
2 Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Comply with all HSE policies and safe systems of work.
- Follow risk assessments and PPE requirements.
- Take responsibility for personal and team safety.
- Report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Ensure environmental protection compliance.
3 Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality.
- Accurately complete maintenance documentation and records.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
4 Documentation & Compliance
- Complete work records, job cards, and reports accurately.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
- Use maintenance management systems as required.
