Primary Function

Surveillance of Contractors and sub-Contractors' implementation of their quality management systems to verify compliance with contract documentation and ISO 9000 requirements. Performs overall rotating and static equipment inspection and monitors the activities of Contractor/sub-Contractor personnel, coordinating all rotating/static equipment works to verify compliance with construction drawings, project specifications, and contract documents.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Review and approval of Contractors/sub-Contractors' inspection and test plans for conformance to specifications, codes and standards.
  • Verify quality control documentation, inspection and test plans, method statements and work instructions; ensure inspection records/test certificates are available.
  • Ensure work sequence is planned and controlled via implementation of approved method statements and work instructions.
  • Conduct inspection activities for all rotating equipment at site arrival; verify conformance to applicable QA/QC documents and standards; monitor storage, preservation, and installation.
  • Undertake actual, witness, and surveillance inspection activities relating to rotating equipment and associated construction and testing works.
  • Review and accept, via signature, inspection and test plans, inspection records, checklists, and test certificates.
  • Monitor work status to identify potential interface or schedule problems and apply preventive measures.
  • Ensure compliance with all site safety regulations and environment preservation requirements.
  • Initiate non-conformance reports where quality deficiencies are not satisfactorily actioned.
  • Produce and submit daily inspection reports identifying inspected items, acceptance/rejection rates, and areas of concern.
  • Monitor rotating equipment/material delivery, storage, and preservation.
  • Ensure spare parts are delivered, stored, and preserved until handover.
  • Review and acceptance of Contractor project documents; verify traceability of daily quality records.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Familiarity with construction and testing methods and techniques.
  • Good level of technical understanding in the mechanical engineering discipline.
  • Good knowledge of international codes and standards.
  • Good knowledge of quality control techniques.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
