Role purpose:

Own day-to-day lookahead planning + progress tracking + material availability coordination to ensure workfront readiness offshore/onshore yards, avoiding downtime due to missing materials, late deliveries, or planning gaps.

Reporting line:

Usually reports to Project Controls / Construction Manager, working closely with planning engineer(s), warehouse, expediting, and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain short-term & medium-term plans (daily/weekly lookaheads) aligned with project baseline schedule.
  • Track progress and productivity, highlight constraints, and issue recovery actions with construction leads.
  • Coordinate material status: MTO follow-up, delivery tracking, MR/PR status, expediting interface, and site material reconciliation.
  • Ensure workfront ready packs: drawings latest revision, permits, materials, tools/equipment availability.
  • Maintain planning and material logs, produce weekly dashboards, and support client reporting.

Requirements (typical):

  • Degree/Diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, or Supply Chain
  • Experience in EPC planning + material coordination 8+ years)
  • Tools: Primavera P6 or MS Project (planning exposure), Excel (advanced), ERP/material tracking exposure (SAP is a plus)
