Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to perform operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of high-voltage electrical power distribution systems within Dukhan Fields. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical equipment up to 33kV, preferably in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical power distribution systems up to 33kV.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults in high-voltage and power distribution equipment.
  • Carry out maintenance of substations, switchboards, transformers, and associated electrical systems.
  • Inspect, maintain, and test AC UPS, DC UPS, battery banks, overhead lines, power cables, lighting systems, and earthing systems.
  • Perform routine inspections and ensure equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in installation, testing, commissioning, and shutdown maintenance activities.
  • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with company procedures, electrical safety standards, and permit-to-work requirements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and report equipment defects and completed work.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Trade Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Technology.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry is preferred.
  • Proven experience in preventive and corrective maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems up to 33kV.

  • Electrical testing and fault diagnosis
  • Various types of protection relays and protection systems

Preferred Competencies

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
  • Good understanding of electrical safety regulations and permit-to-work systems.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Willingness to work in remote field locations and during shutdown or emergency maintenance activities.
