Rolling Stock Overhaul Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Rolling Stock Overhaul Technicians to perform overhaul, repair, inspection, and maintenance activities on rolling stock components including bogies, couplers, gangways, doors, HVAC systems, wheelsets, and other associated equipment. The successful candidates will ensure all overhaul work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved maintenance procedures, railway standards, and HSE requirements while supporting the daily production plan and maintaining high standards of quality and reliability.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma, ITI, Trade Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Railway Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in rolling stock maintenance, overhaul, railway, metro, light rail, or a similar mechanical/electrical industrial environment.
• Experience in mechanical and electrical fault finding and component overhaul.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance instructions.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment.
• Ability to prepare accurate maintenance records and technical reports.
• Good understanding of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements, including safe systems of work, PPE, manual handling, and COSHH.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with maintenance documentation.

Preferred

• Knowledge of TACT, Equinox, or CORMAP maintenance systems.
• Experience working with OEM maintenance procedures and railway maintenance standards.
• Knowledge of Continuous Improvement and 5S principles.
