Electrical Distribution Technician (EDT)

Job Title: Electrical Distribution Technician (EDT)
Job Location: Al Sailiya, Qatar

Contract Duration: 3 Months (Extendable)

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as an Electrical Distribution Technician / Electrician
  • Construction industry experience is mandatory

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be locally available in Qatar

  • Must hold a valid Freelance Visa

Job Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical distribution systems for the generation, transmission, and utilization of electrical power
  • Install and service generators, transformers, switchboards, panels, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, and heating units
  • Install and maintain conduit systems, cabling, PDUs, ECUs, and transmission equipment
  • Ensure proper voltage supply and electrical distribution to B.E.A.R equipment modules, PDUs, ECUs, low-voltage lighting, and power outlets
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, layouts, and technical specifications
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults in power distribution systems and equipment
  • Perform electrical load calculations and verify wiring capacity and equipment ratings
  • Use electrical hand tools and measuring/testing instruments such as multimeters, megger testers, and clamp meters
  • Ensure compliance with construction standards, electrical codes, and site safety regulations
  • Coordinate with other trades and site teams to support project activities
  • Maintain proper documentation, inspection records, and reports

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and power equipment
  • Experience working with low-voltage and power distribution systems

  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Familiarity with construction site electrical safety practices
