Role purpose

Produce and maintain method drawings used for offshore execution: lifting/rigging sketches, sea-fastening, installation sequences, temporary works, layouts, and method statements visuals to support safe construction and offshore operations.

Reporting line

Typically reports to Project/Construction/Methods Manager within a methods or subsea engineering group.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop 2D/3D drawings that support offshore construction methods (installation sequences, deck layouts, equipment arrangements, lifting plans, temporary supports).
  • Convert method engineering inputs into clear IFC/IFR drawings, sketches, and markups for offshore teams.
  • Ensure drawings align with HSE, lifting/rigging best practices, and project constraints (vessel, crane capacity, access/egress).
  • Manage drawing registers, revisions, and as-built updates; coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA/QC.
  • Support offshore queries with quick turnarounds and accurate revisions.

Requirements (typical)

  • Diploma in Drafting / Mechanical / Civil (or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in offshore EPC / construction drafting 7+ years)
  • Proficiency: AutoCAD (must), often MicroStation / Navisworks / SolidWorks depending on project
  • Understanding of lifting/rigging terminology, temporary works, and constructability
