Job Summary
The Project Manager will lead and manage multidisciplinary engineering consultancy services for infrastructure and building projects. The role involves overseeing design development and updates, technical studies, BIM coordination, authority approvals, and ensuring project delivery within schedule, budget, and quality standards. The Project Manager will act as the primary interface with the Client and ensure compliance with contractual and technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy team.
- Act as the primary point of contact with the Client (Authorities / Development Teams).
- Manage call-off orders, project planning, and resource allocation.
- Oversee technical studies, surveys, and design modifications.
- Ensure compliance with project scope, specifications, and contractual obligations.
- Monitor project progress, budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
- Coordinate BIM deliverables and interdisciplinary design integration.
- Manage authority submissions, approvals, and statutory coordination.
- Review and approve technical reports, calculations, shop drawings, schematics, and load demand estimates.
- Prepare and present progress and status reports to the Client.
- Develop and manage risk registers and mitigation plans.
- Ensure adherence to QHSE and Quality Management Systems.
- Support variation management and change control processes.
Qualifications & Education
- Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related Engineering discipline.
- Masters Degree in Project Management or Engineering (preferred).
Experience Requirements
- 12–15 years of total professional experience.
- Minimum 7 years in a Project Management role.
- Proven experience in large-scale infrastructure and building projects.
- Strong background in:
- Roads and earthworks
- Wet utilities and mechanical systems
- Electrical building services
- Architectural and structural works
- ICT works
- Experience in managing projects valued between QAR 5 Million to QAR 400 Million.
- GCC experience required (Qatar experience preferred).
Technical Competencies
- Strong expertise in:
- Design management and technical reviews
- Studies, surveys, and design updates
- BIM coordination (LOD, clash detection, coordination workflows)
- CAD deliverables and documentation standards
- Authority submissions and statutory processes
- Familiarity with:
- FIDIC or similar consultancy contracts
- Quality control procedures
- Risk management and mitigation planning
Professional Certifications (Preferred)
- PMP (Project Management Professional)
- MMUP/UPDA Grade A
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent
- ISO 9001 Quality Management awareness
Soft Skills
- Strong leadership and decision-making ability
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
- High level of organization and documentation control
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Additional Requirements
- Fluent in English (Arabic is an advantage).
- Proficient in MS Office, MS Project and/or Primavera.
- Experience working in BIM environments (Revit/Navisworks preferred).
- Valid Qatari Driving License (preferred).
