Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Training Technician – Water to support the delivery of practical water laboratory training programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, tools, and training facilities, preparing practical training materials, assisting instructors during laboratory sessions, and ensuring all equipment operates safely and efficiently. The role also involves performing preventive maintenance, equipment calibration, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain custody of laboratory equipment, tools, instruments, and training materials.
- Prepare laboratory practical training materials, equipment, and tools for training sessions.
- Support trainers and lecturers in conducting practical laboratory lessons and trainee assessments.
- Perform preventive maintenance, routine servicing, and repairs on laboratory equipment and machinery.
- Respond promptly to equipment failures, leaks, and emergency maintenance requirements.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain pumps, valves, meters, flow systems, and other water treatment equipment.
- Calibrate, modify, and repair laboratory instrumentation, flowmeters, recorders, and water quality monitoring equipment.
- Ensure laboratory equipment is maintained in good working condition and that water supply systems function efficiently.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic laboratory environment in compliance with organizational standards.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory inventories of equipment, tools, and consumables.
- Ensure compliance with KAHRAMAA Health, Safety, Environmental, and operational procedures.
- Support Quality Assurance initiatives and contribute to maintaining ISO, Risk Management, and ISMS certifications.
- Carry out any additional technical or operational duties assigned by management.
Requirements
Education
- Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in water treatment plants, utilities, laboratory operations, maintenance, or technical training support.
- Experience maintaining pumps, valves, instrumentation, and mechanical equipment is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical and laboratory equipment.
- Experience with pumps, valves, pipelines, flowmeters, and water treatment systems.
- Ability to calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and monitoring equipment.
- Understanding of laboratory safety procedures and equipment handling.
- Familiarity with quality standards, ISO systems, and workplace safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance records and reporting.
