About the job Human Resources Generalist
On behalf of our client, we are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support a construction focused organization operating in Chico, California. This role is responsible for driving HR operations, compliance, employee relations, and talent initiatives while supporting a safety-first, performance-driven culture.
Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
Ensure compliance with California employment law and federal regulations (EEO-1, VETS-100, etc.)
Partner with leaders on employee relations, policy guidance, and performance management
Support labor relations and workforce matters
Coordinate performance reviews, engagement surveys, and compensation administration
Maintain HR records and documentation
Promote a culture centered on safety, accountability, and employee engagement
Contribute to HR process improvements and operational best practices
Requirements:
Associates Degree
5+ years of Human Resources experience
Construction industry experience
Strong knowledge of California HR best practices, employment law, and compliance regulations
Preferred:
Bachelors Degree
Union experience
Bilingual English/Spanish
Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR)
Compensation range: $70,000-$80,000
