About the job Supply Base Manager
Key Responsibilities:
· Supplier Identification and Evaluation:
o Conduct thorough research and market analysis to identify potential suppliers.
o Evaluate supplier capabilities, capacity, quality systems, financial stability, and adherence to global standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, IATF 16949, C-TPAT, and responsible sourcing standards.
o Assess supplier risk and develop mitigation strategies.
· Sourcing Strategy Development:
o Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives.
o Conduct cost analysis and negotiation to achieve optimal pricing.
o Identify and leverage opportunities for cost reduction, including value engineering and supplier consolidation.
· Supplier Relationship Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
o Collaborate with suppliers to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
o Resolve supplier performance issues and implement corrective actions.
· Supply Chain Optimization:
o Optimize supply chain processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
o Manage supplier lead times and inventory levels to ensure timely delivery of materials.
o Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as disruptions and shortages.
· Strategic Sourcing Projects:
o Lead strategic sourcing projects, such as global sourcing initiatives and supplier development programs.
o Conduct supplier performance reviews and implement improvements.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in sourcing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
· Strong understanding of sourcing methodologies and techniques (e.g., RFQs, RFPs, reverse auctions).
· Experience with supplier evaluation and selection processes, with a focus on assessing adherence to global standards and certifications.
· Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
· Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
· Proficiency in supply chain management software and data analysis tools.
· Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).
