Job Description
- Oversee the development and optimization of assembly processes for new products, managing the entire process from concept to mass production.
- Apply expertise in dimensional chain management to ensure precise alignment and tight tolerances of components, critical to product quality and performance.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to integrate assembly processes and DFM principles into product designs from the outset.
- Drive process innovations specific to automotive or two-wheeled vehicle assembly, ensuring efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Partner with suppliers to ensure components and sub-assemblies meet required specifications; address issues that arise during the assembly process to foster continuous improvement.
- Lead NPI activities related to assembly processes, managing the transition from pilot production to full-scale manufacturing, including process validation and ramp-up.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cycle times, product quality, and assembly efficiency, utilizing root cause analysis and other methodologies.
- Mentor and develop engineers and technicians, providing ongoing training on assembly best practices and dimensional chain management.
Required Qualifications
- Significant experience in the automotive or two-wheeled vehicle industry with a strong background in assembly processes.
- Expertise in dimensional chain management, with a proven ability to maintain tight tolerances and ensure precise component fitment.
- Successful track record of leading NPI projects in assembly processes from concept through to full-scale production.
- Strong collaborative skills with experience working closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities focused on continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for designing and simulating complex assemblies, ensuring they are optimized for manufacturability.
- Fluency in English for effective communication in an English-speaking office environment; fluency in Chinese is an added advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineering Degree in BSME, BSEE, or a related field with 8+ years of experience in assembly process development within the automotive or two-wheeled vehicle industry.
- Extensive experience in managing dimensional chains in complex assemblies, with a focus on tight tolerances and product quality.
- Specific expertise in assembly processes within the automotive or two-wheeled vehicle sectors, understanding their unique challenges.
- Proven track record of successfully leading NPI projects for assembly processes in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
