About the job Display Optical Engineer
Responsibilities:
1. Lead display module optical/panel design and define optical specifications, test plan/methodologies.
2. Proactively work with display suppliers, display US team, and cross functional teams including EE, ME, touch, reliability, SW and system team, to drive decisions for best display module design.
3. Support display color calibration process and solutions, HDR and image quality evaluation.
4. Validate display optical performance through visual inspection, and data analysis to characterize display.
5. Identify risks, track and resolve issues through various phases of production.
6. Design and integrate new display technologies into products from the prototype phase to mass production.
Minimum Qualification:
1. Masters degree in Physics, Optical, Photonics, Color Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
2. 3+ years of experience in display design for consumer electronics.
3. Experience in display module optical design and architecture, system integration, test, debugging and analysis.
4. Experience with designing display module with display technologies such as LCD, backlights, AMOLED.
5. Ability to perform and design DOE, data analysis, SPC control, yield improvement, root cause investigation, FACA, quality control.
6. Knowledge of display metrology, photometry, and colorimetry.
7. Experience in working with display vendors, ODMs and CMs, as well as JDM development.
8. Track-record of ownership in designing and delivering consumer products.
9. Willingness and ability to travel 20% time internationally.
Preferred Qualification:
1. In-depth knowledge of AMLCD CF, TFT, LC cell, or AMOLED material, design and production process.
3. Expert in display optical performance related fields such as color science, CF design, LEDs, backlight films.
4. Experience with optical simulation models with tools such as Lightools, ZEMAX, Tracepro.
5. Experience in large data analysis tools such as JMP, Tableau.
6. Project management, written and verbal communication skills and people skills.
