Role Overview

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will work closely with Product Design, Manufacturing Engineering, contract manufacturers, and equipment suppliers to develop robust, scalable, and cost-effective manufacturing processes for high-volume consumer electronics products.

The role will support the full product development lifecycle, from early product architecture and design decisions through process development, equipment qualification, factory implementation, and mass production readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Influence product definition and architecture selection through early Design for Manufacturing engagement with Product Design teams.
• Develop manufacturing processes across areas including precision electronic assembly, automation, sealing, adhesive application, metal fabrication and finishing, injection molding, and leak testing.
• Lead the specification, design, prototyping, fabrication, validation, and implementation of manufacturing processes, fixtures, and equipment.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners and equipment suppliers to develop robust and scalable production solutions.
• Improve manufacturing efficiency, flexibility, and scalability through workflow analysis, capacity planning, space optimization, and equipment layout.
• Identify, evaluate, and introduce new manufacturing processes, technologies, and equipment.
• Support process qualification, factory implementation, and production ramp.
• Drive improvements in manufacturability, yield, cycle time, quality, and production efficiency.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, technical program management, or related roles.
• Experience leading the specification, development, and implementation of manufacturing fixtures, equipment, and process flows.
• Experience collaborating with design teams early in the hardware lifecycle to incorporate Design for Manufacturing principles.
• Experience with high-volume, high-precision consumer electronics is highly preferred.
• Experience with NX or other CAD tools is a plus.
• Familiarity with DOE, GRR, tolerance analysis, and statistical analysis.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams and Asia-based manufacturing partners.
