About the job Operations Program Manager
Factory Operations Program Manager (OPM)
We're looking for an experienced and highly motivated Factory Operations Program Manager to be our on-site operations lead at our FATP (Final Assembly, Test, and Pack) vendor in Hanoi, Vietnam. The Factory Operations Program Manager plays a critical leadership role in launching new products with excellence — ensuring operational readiness, quality, cost-efficiency, and supply availability from early development through mass production and post-ramp optimization.
In this role you will lead cross-functional efforts to successfully transition new products from development into mass production. You'll serve as the critical liaison between product development, manufacturing partners (OEMs/CMs), and internal teams across engineering, quality, supply chain, sourcing, planning, and finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional development builds through all phases (EVT, DVT, PVT, Ramp) by coordinating readiness activities across internal teams and external manufacturing partners.
- Drive operational readiness by ensuring factory readiness (people, process, equipment, fixtures, materials) for NPI ramps and product launches.
- Own the end-to-end capacity planning including equipment strategy, factory budget oversight, and readiness tracking.
- Ensure supply continuity and part readiness through close coordination with supply chain, sourcing, and materials teams — proactively managing material risks and shortages.
- Influence product design to enhance manufacturability, testability, and operational scalability while balancing quality, flexibility, and cost.
- Identify and manage manufacturing and supply risks, turning them into proactive opportunities with internal and external partners.
- Support post-ramp qualifications, leading continuous improvement initiatives driven by field quality feedback, material availability, and cost optimization.
- Build strong relationships with CM's to ensure high quality and a predictable supply.
- Manage clear communication and alignment across all levels of the organization — presenting updates, risks, and recommendations to executive stakeholders.
- Maintain and track operational budgets, working closely with finance and factory teams to ensure cost efficiency during NPI execution.
Qualifications
- 5–10+ years in high-volume manufacturing, supply chain, or operations program management — ideally in electronics/hardware environments.
- Bachelor's in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical) required; MS, MBA, or equivalent preferred.
- Proven leadership managing OEM operations, driving NPI ramps, and executing complex builds and high volume production.
- Exceptional project/program management skills, with strong bias for action in ambiguous and fast-paced settings.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin and/or Vietnamese - at all organizational levels.
- Technical depth in manufacturing processes and supply chain best practices
Multilingual capabilities in English + Mandarin, Vietnamese or other local languages is highly desirable.
- Ability to travel up to ~40% to various international destinations
